IMPORTANT NOTE: This survey is not complete yet, per our estimates we have surveyed about 30% to 50% of the Bay Area, not including Sacramento. However, the results show that "out of every 20 companies that say they specialize in Restoration work only ONE of them is properly licensed". Through conducting this survey we have found a very disturbing fact- that a few of the very large Restoration companies, some of which are State wide, are NOT licensed for Restoration work. Some of these companies even claim that a CSLB licensed is not needed and advertise for services that DO require a proper license.

We do not want to list those unlicensed contractors here for two reasons (1) there are way too many and (2) we would like to avoid any legal problems. Our best advice for the consumer is the same we have always given- ASK for the license number and CHECK it in the CSLB website and make sure it matches the name in the contract or promo materials or truck, etc. No license = no referral, No license = call someone else to do the work for you.
